Tarahumara Pack Basket
This basket is made from 3 bent wooden hoops that have been woven together with strips of rawhide. This basket is a primitive saddle bag, also called a “Burro Basket” or Burden Basket, it hangs, one from either side, of an animal and is still used in parts of the Sierra Madre. It is 22″ wide – 18″ tall – 23.5″ deep. A really neat piece & it is structurally sound.
