Straw inlaid boxes are initially made of linden wood which is native to Russia. The box is inlaid with harvested straw that has been ironed and, sometimes, soaked in potassium to create a darker golden effect. Each piece of straw is precision cut and glued to the box before the entire box is sealed with lacquer. Measures 9″ x 2.5″ x 1.5″.
